MAHA AL-ADHEEM has appeared in court charged with the murder of her son, three-year-old Omar Omran in Dublin earlier this week.
The toddler was found dead at the Riverside Apartments, Poddle Park in Kimmage on Monday.
The woman was arrested last night and Detective Sergeant Brendan O’Halloran of Sundrive Garda Station said she made no reply when arrested.
In response to the charge, Sergeant O’Halloran told the Dublin District Court she said:
Yes, it was my knife. Yes, it was my hand. It was not me but the power.
Al-Adheem was remanded in custody by Judge Michael Walsh at the end of this morning’s proceedings and will appear in court again on 20 July.
The three-year-old boy died after being found with apparent stab wounds at the apartment complex at about 7pm on Monday evening.
