FROM DECEMBER, MINISTER for Transport Shane Ross is planning to introduce naming and shaming for drink drivers and other road offenders as part of his amended Road Traffic Bill.

The AA, meanwhile, suggests that the impact of such legislation will be ‘minimal’, and that the only effective way to combat drink-driving is to commit more funding to the gardaí.
